Tibetan Lamas Demonstrate Ancient Sand Art Technique At PHCC (The Suncoast News Pasco)

All this week West Pasco is being offered a glimpse of an ancient culture and its art and religion. Tibetan Buddhist teachers, called Lamas, are in the lobby of the Pasco Hernando Community College West Campus Conference Center creating a sand painting as part of the college's Peace Week activities.

City Council to address museum, power line issues (The Fort Dodge Messenger)

Paintings and power lines are on the agenda for the Fort Dodge City Council on Monday. The paintings are in the Blanden Memorial Art Museum, but council members would like to put them on a tour of other galleries as a way to raise money. There are power lines all over the community, but the ones the council will talk about are along Fifth Avenue South.

To members of the Fort Dodge City Council, putting items from the Blanden Memorial Art Museum on tour seemed like a legitimate way to bring in some more money. However, the museum's staff and Board of Trustees had no luck getting other institutions interested in leasing the planned traveling exhibit. But no one told the City Council members that.
